Depends] The Beginning or the End [On Perspective
« Thread Started on Jul 4, 2008, 1:41pm »

News Report CNN: It has become an all out war. Since the new laws have been passed the uprisings have only become worse. The mutants are refusing the Identification Laws and are refusing to be tattooed to be identified as mutants. Mutant gangs are beginning to arise, and the general public is becoming scared. Afraid of what is to come. Parents are taking their children out of schools, the general populous refuses to go to work, all because of a rational fear of mutants. Normally they walk on the streets among us, but now the United Nations is worried about our Global Security. They are now issuing chemical companies to find a "cure" for the mutant epidemic. Once treated as a normal defect, it is now being treated as a disease. The United Nations is putting out a War on Mutants. Or rather the disease that causes mutany. Is there really a disease? Chief analyst Bob Marks says, "No, there isn't a disease, it's just a gene, like every other gene that you have that makes your eyes blue, makes you tall or short. It's not something that can be cured. It's a part of your make up. You can't cure it unless you wanted to put the mutants on a death sentence." Nevertheless, they continue on this path of "curing the disease." Will this lead to more mutant uprisings? There are many theories from people around the world on what's happening. From the mutants are just opposing being tagged, imagining it as a World War II repeat, to the mutants are uprising and trying to find out a way to wipe out the human race. Whatever the reason, mutants are now the top issue in todays global and national security. Mutants that were in top positions in government and business, would look bad if not tagged, are now being persecuted and no longer trusted. What will this lead to? Who would know, but whatever the outcome, we will follow it every step of the way. Walter Cronkite CNN World News.

Amazing what a time of crisis can do to a nation, and a world. You start to see the best and the worst of people. Most of the general population doesn't realize that not only are mutants prominent in this world, but they actually make up fifteen percent of the population. There are four kinds of people in this war. The humans against mutants, the ones who even though they may advertise "find a cure" are really trying to wipe us out. Little to they know they will be wiping out fifteen percent of the world's population. Then there are the humans who support us, and not just the ones that support us, but that could include the ones who, don't mind either way. Then there are the mutants. The ones who think that by anger and aggression they can stop this global aggression toward them. There are the extremists on that note that think that by eliminating eight five percent of the worlds population, as in all of the humans, they can stop this once and for all, and allow the superior evolved race to take over and claim it's rightful place. Finally there are the people like me, the people who are writing this find a peaceful way to educate the world's populous about the mutant crisis from all angles. I am also part of the mutant group to keep people in line. To protect both humans and mutants. Let the extremists mutants get to far, and there goes most of the world's population, let the extremist humans get to far, and there goes all of the mutants. There has to be a better way. But for now I will fight, fight with those like me. An organization called Partide. Whatever side you lay on, even if you don't know which side you yet lay on, hopefully this will educate you and start you on a journey, I cannot decide what side you will lay on, but I can give you an idea of where you might lie. -Bob Marks

Just join if you want, you can be on either side of the four groups. I don't have a name for the extremist mutants or humans. To join, just post your intro, I'll post mine when someone joins. It's a new idea, so I don't know how well it'll work. :) Have fun, and welcome to the war.

Cool well, I'm going to be doubling as a character on the Partide side, and as a human on the side that is trying to eliminate the mutants. Just to mix it up :)

The girl walked down the hall that was sloping downward towards the underground. Her long blond hair flew out behind her as she walked, and her blue eyes intently captured everything. She looked to be about eighteen, technically an adult but in her mind, still a kid to her superiors. She came to a metal bolted door, and put her hand on the scanner next to it. The light swiped across her hand, and she heard a series of beeps as the door to the Control room opened up. The room opened to a rows of computers, and in the middle sat a giant globe that spun on it's axis, dots moving across it that were people the telepaths were tracking. "Welcome back Twenty Two." Said a voice to the left of her. She smiled at Bret the computers analyst. He had a knack for computers and could hack into anything in three minutes flat. "It's Short, but thanks." She said smiling. He always called her by her agent number. She walked to the tech room, and started laying her guns down on the counter that was in the middle of the room. While pulling a mini handgun out of her boots, she heard, "Long time no see." She smiled and turned around seeing a large man with a huge belly, pocket protector, and glasses. He still had the biggest smile she had ever seen. "How'd the effects work Short?" She smiled. "Perfect as always." He nodded, and she finished laying her effects on the counter. Her arm caught though, and she held her shoulder a little, as she put her last gun on the table. "Get hurt?" He asked her. "Only a scratch." She said wincing.
"Let me see it." He said. "No." He gave her the stern look, and she sighed lifting up her shirt to expose a large abrasion on her back. He sighed, just as he was about to touch it, it started to heal. He smiled and looked into her bright blue eyes. "Never fails does it Short." She sighed. "I just wish I could do more." She said. "I'm pratically human." She said. "Well, have you forgotten that you can also read minds, and change the moods of those around you." He said. "Yea a lot good that will do." She said.

As he heard the door open, a young man, certainly no older than twenty-four, peeped his head out from the edge of the giant globe, eyebrows furrowed in curiosity as he observed the woman that just entered. Hazel eyes shot quick glances around her, only to realize that he didn't know this person by name. Without regard he returned to what he was doing, gazing at the dots wandering about the globe in pure awe. Every day he came here and stared at these dots, although he possessed no telepathic ability whatsoever. They let him stay because he was a mutant, although few were sure what his mutation was. As long as he didn't touch or break anything, his presence was tolerated, and he made the most out of it.

"J" was what they called him, aptly named for a letter tatooed upon his left arm in a shade of blood red. Nobody had bothered to pursue conversation when they realized he wasn't interested, short of small talk about the weather and the politics at the time, issues that the whole community debated about on a regular basis. While the people worked busily in the room, he simply stared at the globe, as if he was searching for someone. It'd been a week now, and by now J had no intention of changing his routine.

As a child, things began to happen to him that never happened in the movies. While other children suspected as "mutant" excelled at sports and developed incredible strength, his only modification was the ability to escape. It took several years for him to realize this, starting when he began to study parkour, the french "art of displacement", or the ability to overcome obstacles in any emergency. He was able to run faster, jump higher, and maintain a level of exercise longer than everyone he knew. This wasn't a problem, dismissed as natural athleticism, until in his late teens when his mutation transcended to a matured level. He couldn't throw cars or read people's minds, he was only good for..running away.

As people began to discover his mutation, however, running away was his only escape from the barrage of humans that wished to wipe him off the planet. He'd been confronted several times by groups of people knocking at his door, asking rude questions and pointing fingers as if they were investigating a murder. When things got more violent, it was necessary to retreat, and the Control Room was where he spent most of his time, gazing about and minding his own business. These people were the only ones that accepted him for what he was, and he promised himself he'd make it up to them..one day or another.
