"Just be careful Coryn," Nadira said as she watched the wolf lean against Jordan to cool his burns. "You don't want to freeze the little bit of moisture in his skin." She then glanced around the burnt field trying to regain her bearings. "I don't know if we'd be able to move him but if we could get him to my river I could probably have him healed within the day."

(Sorry for taking awhile to reply. Thanks to my apparent addiction to role playing my parents set a time limit... Which is almost up now. Glad to help you out Pen with the explanation of Jordan's wounds.

Jordan jerked away from the sudden coolness touching his sensitive burns, gradually gravitating toward the wolf when he initial shock ceased. Concentrating more on stifling Cries building in his throat Jordan allowed Tripa minimal access to his mind.
"Some what..." Said the small pup, cringing. "The burning sensation is less with the cold, but... the pains sharper now, more forcefull, I imagine once the wound is numb it'll subside." Tripa was taken aback at just how much like her master she sounded. Perhaps she hadn't spoken at all but rather Jordan through her.

"Master wait... I can't... I don't understand!" Tripa yelped dancing back on her heals seeking support from Coryn. "He's trying to say something, I think. But I can't make it out! It's all dark, murky. I can't...Music?" Slowly her speech dwindled into distant whimpers. The wolf pup bowed her head in a depressed fashion, as if ashamed to what was happening. When finally it rose again, meeting Coryn's eager gaze, not a single trace of human intelligence remained.

Nadira continued to sit with Jordan's head in her lap and she almost absently stroked his hair away from his face. "Music," she whispered. "Music to tend the injured?" She had never played an instrument before but she dearly loved to sing. The nymph paused to search for an appropriate song and began to sing in a warm and slightly lower alto voice.

I wish to you comfort my dear one, my dear one
And peace that is needed to rest
I wish to you soothing my child, my child
And life beating strong from your chest

The sound of laughter interrupted the obvious approach into the chorus and Nadira stopped her singing. Ivan was hardly able to stand because of how hilarious the concept was to him. Between bursts of laughter he managed to say, "You really think a song, a lullaby, is going to help his burns?"


ooc: You can decide whether or not Nadira's singing has any effect. She is a nymph and therefore has some magical abilities and she does like to sing but she has never combined them. Also, she was mainly just concentrating on the song rather than trying to bring out her magic through the song.

Though not perfection, a thing Jordan had grown rather accustomed to, Nadira's song soothed him the way a mother would her child. With his held breath released his tension lessoned until it appeared as though he were merely asleep.
